Am I the only person in the world that didn't like the book? And to be honest, the movie didn't knock me off my socks either. However, I am more than happy to do a re-write with my own trip to Italy!
Excitedly, Jeff and I will be doing a little of our own Eat, Pray, Love this month! Tomorrow morning our super wonderful friend Joyce, will drop us at the airport and send us on our way to London and Italy. No special reason for the trip other than my husband rocks and we love traveling together. And no, I didn't practice my Italian this time. I learned from the last trip that even if you do say a few words, you can't say them fast enough for the Italians and there is no way I can wave my hands around like they do (without looking like I escaped from the mental facility).
As Elizabeth Gilbert, author of Eat, Pray, Love said "I think I deserve something beautiful".....so off we go!

Will We Starve in London?
Our trip will begin in London. My husband, Jeff, has previously traveled to London and swears the food is terrible. I have never been to London but I have a strong belief that we will eat while we are there. As you can guess, good food is very important to our travel plans...wine of course topping the list!
For the last few weeks I have emailed friends to ask for restaurant recommendations. Here are a few recommendations from London dwellers as well as London travelers:
I am pretty sure with all those great recommendations we won't starve! "Reviews" to follow...all in the name of research of course!

Time to Pack!
Time to get serious and start packing for our trip...okay, I have to admit that I was packed a week ago so it is Jeff that has to get serious:-)
Weather.com says mid to high 70's during the day which is about 40 degrees cooler than AZ right now! We are using the Ciao Darcy packing list and keeping it to a carry-on to impress our daughter Hannah.
Something about packing makes it start to feel real !! Twenty-four days in London and Italy....travel blogs to come!
